Notifications

The bell and the /notifications inbox, the eight notification categories, per-category in-app and email preferences, and how notifications get marked read.

Updated 2026-07-06

The bell in the sidebar shows an unread count and links to your notification inbox. The count refreshes every 60 seconds while the tab is open and active — it’s a poll, not a live push, so a new notification can take up to a minute to show.

Categories

  • Deal assignments
  • Deal progress — moved, won, or lost
  • Contact & company assignments
  • Comments & mentions
  • Activities & reminders
  • Customer email replies
  • Invitations, roles & access
  • Integrations & webhooks

Preferences

In Settings → Notifications, each category has two independent switches: in-app and email. Turn either off and you’ll stop getting that category through that channel. Workspace owners can also set a workspace-wide default per category, which applies to anyone who hasn’t set their own preference.

Invitations, roles & access can’t be turned off. It’s the one category that always reaches you on both channels.

Email delivery

When email is on for a category, each notification sends its own email as it happens — this isn’t a digest. NeoKivo separately offers a daily summary email of overdue and due-today items, which is a different setting and not tied to these per-category toggles.

Marking notifications read

Clicking a notification marks it read and takes you to what it’s about. Mark all read clears every unread notification at once. Dismissing one with the X removes it from the inbox without necessarily marking it read — dismissed notifications don’t count toward your unread total, but nothing is marked read automatically just by scrolling past it.
