Client management

An optional module that adds clients: the record a commission rate lives on, distinct from a company or a contact. What it unlocks, and how to turn it on.

Updated 2026-07-21

Client management is off by default. Turn it on and NeoKivo adds a Clients entity alongside your existing contacts, companies, and deals: a Clients list and detail pages, a client-picker on deals, CSV import and export for clients, and the commission fields that key off a client’s rate.

Turning it on

Enable it from Settings → Client management, or during onboarding if you set it up then. It is one workspace-wide toggle — everything the module adds (the Clients pages, the import/export entity, the commission fields on deals) appears or disappears together.

Clients vs. companies vs. contacts

A company is an organization. A contact is a person. A client is a different thing: the record you track a commission relationship against — the principal your workspace is selling on behalf of. A client can optionally reference one company and any number of contacts, but it is its own record with its own detail page, not a view over either.

Commission pool basics

A client can carry a default commission rate. Link the client to a deal and NeoKivo derives a commission pool from the deal’s value at that rate — the starting point for external claims and your team’s agent splits. See commission splits on deals for the full model.

CSV import and export

Once enabled, clients gets its own row in the import wizard (Data → Import & export) and an Export clients button next to the contacts, companies, and deals exports. The commission-rate column on that export only appears — and only imports — for someone with the commission permission below; everyone else gets the rest of the client fields without it.

Permissions

  • client.view — see clients
  • client.edit — create and edit clients
  • client.archive — archive and unarchive clients
  • client.link — link and unlink clients on a deal
  • client.commission_view — see a client’s commission rate and everything derived from it
  • client.commission_edit — set a client’s rate and edit commission lines on a deal

These come from a member’s workspace role, same as every other permission — see roles and permissions for how roles assign them.
